Miss your exit? Well… You won’t be penalized for driving the wrong way on the shoulder. They take a lot of the pain out of toll plazas. You can slow to 30 kph and breeze on through the EZPass lanes, so watch for those, there will be nothing blocking the close end and a red “30” or whatever above the entrance. You don’t have to go to green squares and stop at most plazas. As of this writing you don’t get a bonus for delivering cargo early, so sleep on the clock. For the really long jobs you’ll have time to sleep 2 or 3 times and have time to spare for checking out new towns along your route. (Hit F6 to see exactly how much longer you have before you get sleepy) Most jobs will allot you enough time to sleep once, especially after you put a few points in the long distance skill, which you’ll want to do early on.

Don’t bother sleeping between jobs unless the job selection where you’re at is lousy or your rest meter is nearly pegged. Start looking for a place to park after the first yawn, no sooner. Every time you rest it’s going to burn 8 hours, even if you’re not that tired yet. There is no such thing as a partial rest. Running with cruise control it’s easy to get in the zone and miss a speed limit sign. Watch the speed limit signs though, especially in areas where speed cameras are common. *Note: It’s been brought to my attention that the actual safe limit may be 10% over the speed limit. So set your cruise to 6 or 7 over the limit and travel at max efficiency without risking tickets. You can safely travel up to 9 kph over the posted speed limit without getting cited. Or how many times the distraction of having to constantly check my speed caused me to wander over the lines.īuilding on that, set your cruise tolerance to zero, turn on auto retarder. I played about 20 hours without it and I can’t even guess how many speeding violations I got or how many times out of fear of getting them I travelled under the speed limit costing me time.

Without Shift, it's just a `.).Cruise control. Whoever started calling that the Tilde key was wrong, but that is still what they call it. But in the game you just press the key without Shift. (I think.)( Note: Technically, to use the key you need to press Shift + to get the symbol to display in a text file or something. (Don't worry, it's easy.) Once you finished doing that, start the game and on just about any screen you can now press the Tilde key(read the note about this below), on the upper left corner of the keyboard under the Esc key to open the dev console.

If you don't have it enabled, you can see how to do that. I doubt that is your problem, but I know that someone on the official SCS forums has already reached that point. If you have 114 already, you will only have one left to select. So, get out there and find more recruitment agencies! There is also a limit of 115 drivers available. If you are in the parking lot of an agency and access it from there, you will only get one driver. The number of drivers you are offered on the recruitment screen is dependent on the number of agencies you have discovered. If you are accessing the recruitment screen from the main menu, you should have multiple drivers to choose from. You will not get any 'High Value' or 'Fragile' or 'JIT' jobs until you have used at least one skill point to unlock each of those job types. The above skill recommendations applies to both the player and the hired drivers. Jobs can combine 'Just in Time' with 'High Value' or 'Fragile', so learn 'Just in Time' skill early. Then train them in long distance for at least one skill point.

You can also direct a driver to learn a certain skill when they level up, or you can set the driver to 'balanced' and they will learn the next available skill at their current level. It is useful to train the drivers in ADR skills (at least one ADR skill) early in the game as those jobs pay double the base rate. What the player can do is assign trucks to garages (that you own) and assign drivers to trucks. The game picks random jobs for each driver that are appropriate for that driver's skills.
